Oracle and Google Cloud have formed a strategic partnership that allows Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to offer Google's Gemini AI models through its Generative AI service. Initially launching with Gemini 2.5, the offering will expand to include models for text, image, video, speech, music generation, and specialized applications such as MedLM for healthcare. These models will remain hosted on Google's infrastructure but can be accessed via Oracle using Oracle Universal Credits. This collaboration enables Oracle to broaden its AI offerings with more third-party model options, making its platform more versatile for enterprise customers building AI agents for various uses like coding, automation, and research. In return, Google gains wider enterprise exposure for its Gemini models. OCI President Clay Magouyrk highlighted Oracle's goal to provide a diverse set of AI models suited for business needs. This follows Oracle's previous deal with xAI to offer Grok models and distinguishes Oracle's multi-vendor strategy from rivals like Microsoft and AWS, potentially positioning it more securely in the competitive AI cloud market.

Sakana's Fugu delivers multi-agent frontier performance through one API - and pitches it as an export-control hedge

Sakana AI has launched Fugu and Fugu Ultra, a multi-agent orchestration system delivered as a single foundation model - Fugu is itself an LLM trained to route tasks across a swappable pool of the world's best models (and recursively to itself) via one OpenAI-compatible API. Sakana says Fugu Ultra matches frontier models like Anthropic's Fable 5 and Mythos Preview on demanding engineering, science, and reasoning benchmarks, while pitching the approach as an AI-sovereignty hedge: if one provider's access disappears, as with Anthropic's recently export-controlled models, Fugu reroutes around it. It is generally available today through subscription and pay-as-you-go tiers.
